WHY AN APPLICATION? Our goal is to match you
with a dog that is compatible with your lifestyle. Choices for a long-term animal companion should not be made solely on looks.
The temperament and energy level of the dog in question must be taken into consideration. Some dogs need experienced
owners and some dogs would fair well in a household that is limited in their knowledge of dog behavior. Dogs are individuals
and do not always fit the descriptions in breed books. Please consider your energy level, available free time and living space
when considering a dog. If you do not have a lot of time to train a puppy, consider an adult dog. If you live in an apartment
or do not have a fenced in yard, consider the time involved in providing adequate exercise for your dog. In snowy, sunny,
and rainy weather, your dog will still need exercise. If you have never owned a dog, consider fostering a dog before
making a committment. Think it through!
INSTRUCTIONS: Please answer all of the questions FULLY
to prevent delays in processing your application. Please include area codes, zip codes and telephone number(s) of veterinarians.
Carefully review the dog's write-up before you apply to adopt. Adopting is a long-term commitment and it is expected
that you will be mature enough to research the breed and read the particular dog's biography before applying to adopt
from us. Please do not skip a question; if it doesn't
apply to your situation, simply write "N/A."
Please note that we do not
adopt dogs to homes where dog(s) of the same sex live (regardless of breed). Rare exceptions are made.
